FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic eyelashes. They are attached individually to each of your natural lashes - not to the skin. This service enhances, lengthens and volumizes the lash line, and eliminates the need for mascara. It is a meticulous service which requires the precision of your certified lash technician. Once the eyelash extensions are applied, they are natural looking –unlike strip or clustered temporary lashes. Length and thickness varies and is determined based on your natural lashes and desired look.
How long will my eyelash extensions last?
Lash extensions are a treatment that requires gentle care and regular maintenance. There are three phases in the natural eyelash growth cycle, and there are lashes in each phase at all times. Therefore, lashes can shed at various times – within a week or longer. Natural lash shedding is completely normal, and since the extension is adhered to the individual lash, the extension will shed as well. For this reason, and normal “wear and tear”, lash fills are recommended every 2, 3 or 4 weeks. Anything beyond 4 weeks would require the full set to be reapplied.
Do eyelash extensions damage the natural lash?
No. Eyelash extensions are applied individually to each natural lash, and when that lash matures and sheds, the extension grows out with the lash and sheds as well. The adhesive is formulated for use in the sensitive eye area, and dries to create a strong, but flexible bond.
How do I care for my lash extensions?
Caring for lash extensions is simple, but certain products and habits should be avoided. In the first 24 hours after adhesive application, do not allow lashes to get directly wet. For the duration of wearing lash extensions, try to avoid products with oil or acids (glycolic, saicylic, etc.) If these products are a part of your skin care routine, don't ditch them completely, try to avoid use on the lash line, and use a towel to remove to be sure no products left on the extensions. It is best not to rub, pull or pick the lash extensions - if something is uncomfortable, always let us know!
